Hurricane Season Preparedness
The 2021 Hurricane Season begins on Tuesday, June 1st, and continues through November 30th.
Multiple sources predict an above-average 2021 Atlantic Hurricane season. According to recent models, 13 to 20 named storms are expected, with 6 to 10 to become hurricanes. Of those, 3 to 5 are predicted to become major hurricanes (Category 3 or higher.)

FCC Announces Emergency Broadband Benefit
On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, the Federal Communications Commission announced a subsidy program aimed to help families and households struggling to afford internet during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB), provides a discount of up to $50 per month towards broadband service for eligible households. Eligible households may also receive up to $100 to purchase a laptop, computer, or tablet from participating providers.

HUD/HHS COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts
On May 5, 2021, HUD Secretary Fudge alongside Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Becerra announced a partnership that aims to ensure equitable care, in regards to the national COVID-19 response, to those experiencing a disproportionate impact, to include HUD-assisted households.
The partnership provides an opportunity for Multifamily Property Owners to establish and expand contacts with their local community health centers, with the idea to further improve vaccine confidence and access – particularly to the most vulnerable populations.
